Over the past few years, God has been really been kickin’ my butt about being a church that looks like our community and what heaven will ultimately look like.

Our city is very racially diverse but on any given Sunday the churches in our area do not look like the city. We are all “grouped” up by skin color or by nationality.   We have predominantly white churches, black churches and the other nationalities go to their places of worship.

Now, I’ll be the first to admit it is tough getting the cultures together and staying together but with God ALL things are possible. Can I get an AMEN????

So, we prayed that God would give us people of different races so we could look like a multicultural church. Emphasis was on LOOK like.  See, we had this preconceived idea what a multicultural church looked like but God had a different LOOK for our church. (Read my son’s blog. He gives a more personal touch on this issue)

In the past few months God has brought to us people from Brazil, Argentina, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Japan, Pakistan and he even added to our staff a worship leader who’s wife is from Argentina and who speaks the language fluently. How cool is that? We have African Americans, Hispanics and even a white guy or two.  I am totally amazed at what God is doing here at WC.

I never thought God would do it this way but God is doing exactly what we have asked Him to do, make us look like a multicultural church.
